This summer, our team of experienced coaches will again be hosting the HAF programme for children in East Riding & North Lincolnshire. Children eligible for free school meals will have access to a multi-activity programme courtesy of Kids Takeover, Ballers Academy, ISF and First Step Cycle!
At First Step Sports Group, we believe in active healthy summers for all children. After two successful HAF programmes in 2018 and 2020 respectively, we are pleased to be an official partner committed to offering this to all children. To encourage long-term healthy eating, our included workshops provide lessons in workable changes for healthy balanced meals.
With our HAF experience, we are well-versed in offering tailored activity programmes that not only keep the kids entertained but will also give them vital lifelong practical and social skills. Our HAF Sports and Dance Activity Camps will give them a choice of 10 scheduled activities per day. They can get involved with any of the scheduled activities on the day ranging from arts & crafts to sports, dance and even nutritional workshops.
Our Ballers sessions offer specialist training and skills to children interested in making football their focus. Breaking down the days into four core skills per day, we give children opportunities to use their skills in tournaments and full games at the end of the day. In celebrating success and skill, every child is eligible for our daily star of the day.
And for those who are looking to tune up those skills on two wheels, our HAF programme offers a mixture of cycle skills and lessons. We take children through cycle maintenance and basic to intermediate cycle skills which hone their road awareness and introduce them to cross-country cycling. Equipment is provided with sessions running across multiple sites throughout the summer.
For older children interested in sports leadership, we’re offering our practical work experience programme, Learn to Lead. Targeted at 11–15-year-olds, young people will get a taste of working in our sports camps and will take part in a range of theory and practical activities each day, which focus on developing the knowledge and skills of a sports leader, including; communication, self-belief, teamwork, self-management, problem solving, activity set up and more.
We’ll be running camps in the following local councils, check out your area for more information on activities and timings:
