Time to Talk Day

Time to Talk Day with Kids Takeover on Feb 3rd

This year Time to Talk Day will take place on the 3rd of February, giving people across the country the chance to break the silence around mental health issues. Mental health problems affect around 1 in 4 people in the UK, and the social isolation caused by the pandemic has affected many more.

Time to Talk day has sparked millions of conversations in schools, homes, workplaces, in the media, and online. Since there is no one type of person that experiences mental health issues, fear of the negative ramifications affects all, universally.

The organisers of this day hope to ignite conversations in many more environments where the conversations may still be taboo. Run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness, the organisation is working to inspire a community that can talk openly about their mental health.

Why not use Time to Talk Day to start conversations with your children about the things they may be worried about? At Kids Takeover, we are committed to improving physical health and mental wellbeing at our camps, so we keep your kids healthy, inside and out.

Some of the personal stories featured include how to ask if someone is ok using their daily activities such as playing sport or watching TV. Or how to recognise when a person or child needs some extra support. You can share your stories using the hashtag #TimetoTalk.
